Fall fun

We've had a crazy couple of months with lots of fun and lots of challenges. The challenges included Emily having a double ear infection that took two rounds of antibiotics to cure and her getting her first two teeth. Needless to say no one in our house got much sleep for the past two months!! But now everything is back to 'normal' and we are enjoying fall a whole bunch. Here are a few pics of the kids.

Here's Emily at the Family fun fest. She was riding on the tractor all by herself!!

And Evan had fun on the super long slides. He is getting so brave!!

We have been trying to hang out with one of our favorite cousins/nephew, Oliver. He is 7 weeks younger than Emily and oh so cute. Evan loves him so much he always carries around pictures of him when we are home.

I started this quilt last year and found some time to finish it this year to hang on our wall. I am very proud of it, but have to give some credit to my amazing neighbor who's idea it was to do the spider webs on the black part.

This is us at the annual Haunted Hay Ride put on by the Farmparks. Evan had a blast and didn't want to leave, and Emily even seemed to enjoy the hayride.

Summertime fun

Sorry, it has been so long since I've posted. I haven't had a lot of free time lately! So here are all the fun things we have been up to this summer:
We spent a day at the Memphis Kiddie Park out by the zoo, with our good friends Morgan and Brenda. The kids had a lot of fun, and even Mom got to ride on the roller coaster! As the kids were on the last ride it started to down poor and so we called it a day.
We have been going to the beach a bunch with the Grandmas and Evan got to ride on Daddy's sailboat for the first time! He did really well, was not scared at all and even helped with the Jib!
Grandpa has been rebuilding an old dragster and so Evan had to give it a try. Hopefully he will not have the Petschauer gene of wanting to be a racer!! (too dangerous, and expensive)
We also went to the farmparks on one of their free days and Evan got to milk a cow, he did great and was even able to get the milk to come out!!

Emily turned 5 months old last week. We started her on cereal and she loves it. Hopefully she will be as good of an eater as her brother, so far so good!! She can roll over and does it all the time in her bed, unfortunately, she doesn't like it for very long and then she gets upset. We are convinced she is getting some teeth: she is gnawing on everything, and just overall pretty cranky.

Evan starts preschool in two weeks he seems very excited about it. We are looking forward to enjoying the last few weeks of summer, there are still a lot of things we haven't done that are on our 'to do' list.

4 Years and 4 Months!

WOW, I cannot believe how fast my babies are growing up.
We celebrated Evan's 4th birthday with a fun Super WHY! party. I made some fun games, the kids had to find 'super letters' hidden in the yard and put them in the 'super computer' to spell out a 'super message', then we played bag toss where the kids had to get there bags into 'Storybook village'. And I even found the time this year to make his birthday cake again.
This year, Evan has done so many fun things and is getting so smart and creative. He attended preschool, played t-ball, spent lots of time with his grandma's, is learning to swim with a life vest on, getting really good at riding his bike, and growing taller and taller and taller!!

Emily just turned 4 months old. She is also growing a lot. She has started making all kinds of fun noises. She is super strong and can stand up on her own if we lean her up against the couch. She was 'walking' today in the yard with me holding her hands. She is still working on sitting up on her own, and is great at belly time. She is melting everyones hearts everywhere we go with her beautiful smile.
I absolutely love my babies and am really enjoying watching them grow and change and learn.

K'Nex

We had this great opportunity to try out some K'Nex products for free. Evan already has some K'Nex and loves to play with them. They allow him to be completely creative and are super easy to use. Evan received three of the Sesame Street K'Nex toys, the Kick it Elmo, Swim Time Ernie, and Cookie Monster's Basketball. Here are some of the pros and cons that we found with the toys.

PROS:

*Very easy for Evan to figure out (age appropriate). The first one he had to look at the instructions and needed some minor assistance to build it, the second one he built completely on his own with the instructions and by the third on he was able to build it and didn't even take the instructions out of the package.

*Fun and creative, they are meant to build one character, but you can switch it up and create all kinds of funny things (as you can see from the picture).

*Improves hand-eye coordination

*Encourages imaginative play

*Encourages thinking and problem solving skills
CONS:

*They were more like LEGO's than the K'Nex toys we are used to. Not many of the pieces connected like K'Nex, but more like LEGO's.

*It is almost impossible to get all the pieces back in the original container, so you have to find a new storage container for them.

3 Months

Emily is now 3 months old and doing wonderful! She is super strong and is a very good baby. She is sleeping 7-8 hours at night. She loves to smile and make all kinds of cool noises. She can grab toys and put them in her mouth, her favorite is one that has the crinkly stuff in it. We are looking forward to a fun July with the 4th and Evan's 4th birthday, and another annual street garage sale. I think I am crazy for doing it again, but hopefully this year will be more successful than last year!

Happy Father's Day!

I wish my wonderful husband a very happy Father's Day! He is the most amazing husband, and I'm not just saying that. He not only cleans and helps out around the house and with the kids, but he let me go to Columbus on Saturday for the entire day and he watched Evan AND Emily all day!!!! What other husband would allow their wife to leave for an entire day when they were still nursing??? He is so amazing with Evan and Emily, they both love him very much and are so lucky to have such a loving father. We had a great Father's Day on Sunday, we went to the Captain's baseball game. It was super hot, but we found some shaded seats and it made it all worth it when they won with a walk-off home run in the 9th! We also got a ball from the game. There was a foul ball and the third baseman tossed it to Evan. Then Noel and Evan got to run the bases after the game! What a great way to spend fathers day.
I love you, Noel!

T-Ball

Well we have officially started the crazy life of children's sports. Evan started T-ball last week and is having a blast. He is the typical 3 year old-putting his glove on his head instead of on his hand and running around the bases when he is on defense! It was a hoot watching him 'play' baseball!! Hopefully he will get more focused and continue to have fun. We have an awesome coach who is really great (and patient) with the kids. He is actually the husband of one of Evan's babysitters from when I was working. Go Bears!!!!

2 Months

Emily is 2 months old now. She is doing lots of smiling and 'talking'. She is sleeping and eating well and will visit the doctor next week to get her official stats. We have not been doing a whole lot so that's why there have not been any posts. Just trying to keep our lives in order and adjust to having two little ones.

One month

Well believe it or not, Emily has been here a month. She is officially 9lbs. 8oz. which puts her in the 50th percentile and 21.5 inches long (60th percentile). It has been a pretty good month, she is sleeping well and eating pretty good, except the spit-up that comes with every feeding. Evan is loving her and takes EVERY opportunity to kiss her and pat her on the head. He is a great big brother and helps out a lot. She is attempting to make some new noises and smiles a lot (even if it's only gas). Time is flying by with her, but we are enjoying every minute.

WELCOME Emily Audrey Lindic

We would like to announce our new arrival: Emily Audrey Lindic! She was born Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 12:05pm. She weighed 7lbs. 9oz. and was 19.5 inches long.
The labor was pretty easy. My water broke at home at 4am and we went into the hospital around 5am. They got me all situated and hooked up to the gazillion machines and I was slowly progressing, I got my epidural (love those) then they started some pitosin (sp?) around 10am, and kept increasing the dose about every hour, by the third increase the contractions were right on top of one another and VERY intense! I pushed for about 3 minutes and she was here!
She is so amazing, she did not even cry when she was born, she just squeaked a little. She seems very content and happy, is eating really well, and sleeping a lot. Our first night home was a little rough, she was very fussy from about 7pm until 1am, but then slept in until 9:30. We are so very happy to have her and feel very lucky to have such a perfect and complete family.
Evan is very excited about her, he always wants to help and keeps saying how cute and funny she is. He is so compassionate and gentle with her and I know he is going to be the best big brother ever.

PROGRESS!!

Ok, so we've finished the baby's room. (well its about 97% done. We still have to finish staining the dresser and put it in and load it up with all the clothes and stuff, I am making a skirt for the bottom of the crib and we still need to buy a hamper, but all the big stuff is done). We are pretty much set for baby's arrival-physically at least, not so sure about mentally yet :)
I am also slowly progressing. At my last visit I was 1 cm. I go back on Monday and am hoping for more progress because my doctor started talking about inducing me and I don't want that-I've heard too many horror stories. So, we'll hope in the next week I will be heading to the hospital!! Sorry about the picture-Evan took it for me!! :)

Updates

Ok, so here are some things we have been up to. First, Noel finished the closet in the hallway and also our new closets in our bedroom. They all turned out awesome!! We still have to put doors on the closets in our room, but that will probably wait a while, we think it looks kinda nice being open. The hall closet is so nice also, to have somewhere to put our vacuums and misc. cleaning supplies. I love having such a handy husband. Now the only real major thing left to do before baby arrives is put carpeting in her room and get a dresser, then we can fill the room with all of her stuff.

Then yesterday was my sister's baby shower (she is due May 10th). It turned out great and they got lots of stuff. My mom did most of the decorating, but we had a lot of help from friends and family too.
