Basement Remodel

Noel and I have been wanting to remodel our basement since we moved in 11 years ago. As you can see from this picture, when we bought the house the basement was very dark and outdated with wood paneling walls and brown/orange/yellow shag carpet.
BEFORE
We finally got the inspiration and had the money (sorta) to complete the project. We stripped out all of the paneling and put up drywall on all the walls and ceiling. Put in lots of new lighting to brighten things up, new carpeting and new windows.
We are so excited at how it came out. It now is a warm and inviting space that we can play, relax and spend time together. It is especially nice to have another place to play now that the weather is getting worse. The only thing left to do is decorate the space, which I am horrible at, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Here is a picture of the completed remodel without furniture.

And this is the after with furniture.

Family Fun Fest

Yesterday we went to the Family Fun Fest at Patterson Fruit Farm. Evan had so much fun. I think his favorite thing was jumping off the piles of hay.

He really enjoyed the slides
And we had fun making our way through the corn maze.
Even Noel had lots of fun playing too!

I love fall!

I have really been looking forward to fall this year. (Even though it's the season before all that horrible white stuff). We have so many fun things planned like going to Patterson's Fruit Farm, a Halloween hayride, raking leaves and jumping in the piles, and all kinds of fun activities and programs at the Nature Center and the Metroparks. So here is our first adventure to Patterson's to pick out our pumpkins and of course get some apple fritters, mmmmmm. . . I think they are a big reason why I have been waiting for fall :-) Noel picked out one of the biggest pumpkins in the patch, and we had to get a tiny little one for baby Lindic also!

First Day of School!

Wow, we have had a very busy week. Today Evan started his first day of preschool! I cannot believe he is old enough to go already! He did so well, they have two transition days where the parents come and stay with them and then day three will be on their own. Noel was able to join us and got to meet Evan's teachers Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Miller, who are both very nice. He will go two days a week for two hours, I know he is going to have so much fun, and it will give me a break to do some errands and eventually when baby #2 comes, spend some quality time with him/her. I am so proud of my little man!

Happy Anniversary

Today is our 9 year wedding anniversary (9/9/09)! It is hard to believe we have actually been together for 16 years total! This has been the best 16 years of my life. Noel is such an amazing man and awesome father. I could not have asked for a better man to spend the rest of my life with. He is so supportive, and funny, and he puts up with all of my ‘imperfections’. He is an incredible father to our son, and I can’t wait for our new little one to meet the most fantastic father in the world. Happy Anniversary, Noel! I will love you forever!

Cleveland Airshow

We went to the airshow this weekend. I'd have to say I was very impressed. It was amazing watching all the planes do their stunts and seeing all the different planes up close. Evan had fun until about 2:00 when he started getting really tired because he had missed his nap. But we had to stay until 4:15 to see the Thunderbirds. Evan has been obsessed with the Blue Angels since his Grandma bought him a movie about them, so we knew he'd enjoy it, unfortunately, he was so tired by that point, that he was happier playing with the grass then watching the planes. Oh well maybe next year. I would highly recommend it to anyone, it was well worth the $20/ticket and $12 parking prices!!

WE'RE EXPECTING!!!!!!!

We are very happy to announce baby Lindic, due to arrive April 2nd. We went for my first ultrasound today and Dr. Vito said everything looks perfect. We could see the baby's heart beating super fast. It did not move at all during the ultrasound, but she said that's most likely because I hadn't eaten in a long time. I am feeling very good, started off with a lot of nausea and tiredness, but am feeling pretty normal now. Evan is very excited about the new baby and gives it hugs and kisses every night before bed. He is going to be the best big brother. I have put a ticker on the blog so you can follow the progress of baby, and I will be posting updates as they happen. YIPEE!! We are so excited!!
